Callan Sayers and the Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort Swift Racing Team once again claimed a spot on the podium in round six of the Australian Swift Racing Series at Morgan Park over the weekend.
The team arrived in Warwick Thursday evening after driving through heavy rain on their way from Brisbane but thankfully blue skies and moderate conditions greeted them for Friday’s successful practice session.
After slight changes to the car setup and driving style from the previous round at Morgan Park the team were close to the money.
The weather conditions continued to improve throughout the weekend allowing race pace to pick up and for Sayers to put the Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort race car on P2 in the Saturday qualifying session.
However grip levels changed significantly throughout the races and Sayers struggled to find car speed through technical sections.
This did not stop the Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort Swift Race Team from finishing a strong third position overall for the weekend, leaving Sayers with a 125 point margin ahead of his closest competitor in the championship.
The next round of the Australian Swift Racing Series is at Sydney Motorsport Park over the weekend of 24th-26th October which includes a one hour endurance race.
