Why has it taken me 67 years to find out that I can enjoy a great Shiraz and a mouthwatering eye fillet and at the same time remain healthy? Just don’t have one every night. No one ever told me that or maybe I just didn’t want to listen. I achieved a weight loss of 7.4kg, fat loss of 7.3kg & a % Fat Loss 4.5%. I am diabetic type 2 and these past 3 months have improved my condition as well. There is still a long way to go but I am proud of the effort I have put in these past 3 months and for the first time in ages I feel comfortable in my skin and my clothes.

Please tell us about your results: Weight Loss: 7.4kg. Fat Loss: 7.3kg. % Fat Loss: 4.5%.

In January I decided to help my wife lose weight by getting off the couch and started walking with her to improve her health after she has had some serious issues in the past year. She is doing amazing, in fact twice as good as me in the weight loss department as we stride through 40kms of brisk walking each week.

I am diabetic type 2 and these past 3 months have improved my condition as well. I had targeted to lose 10kgs which was quite ambitious but I did get under a 100kg for the first time in 10 years. Onwards and downwards to 90 kg.

Please tell us how your trainer helped you achieve your results: I had worked with personal trainers on and off over the years. I worked with a whipper snipper, Jesse, at Tarragindi 3 years ago. I was still on the mailing list and the challenge popped up just at the right time. As Jesse will attest I am a dedicated foodie and wine lover so his task was never going to be easy. and still isn't.

The first session back he was kind enough to let me go into a backward free fall which in hindsight must have looked hilarious. He has got better now at catching and I stopped falling over with his patient and carefull training to ensure we strengthened the right bits so I don't.

We have serious workouts but lots of laughs along the way.

I also wanted to mention Dave’s address on the first night. Despite speaking like a politician in full flight I learned many things. Some of his analogies were simple but shed light on issues I had not considered or had explained to me as clearly as they should have been by some of my own health team.

Please tell us how achieving your results makes you feel: Why has it taken me 67 years to find out that I can enjoy a great Shiraz and a mouthwatering eye fillet and at the same time remain healthy? Just don't have one every night. No one ever told me that or maybe I just didn't want to listen.

There is still a long way to go but I am proud of the effort I have put in these past 3 months and for the first time in ages I feel comfortable in my skin and my clothes. Our own children are having kids later in life so to be an active grandpa I need to live longer and be fit longer. That is a permanent goal on the wall right there.

Please tell us about your training highlights: Not falling over anymore and having some fun along the way. Thanks, Jesse and the crew at Drive Fitness Tarragindi

Is there anything else you'd like to share?: Elephants need to be eaten in small bites. With Drive Fitness coaching on the sidelines, we just ate a big chunk so don't wait for one-minute longer, just get up and do it.

Dave and his team are allrounders in health, take advantage of their skills.

“Last year was a massive achievement of reaching my weight loss goal of 43kg. It was 2 years in the making, it was a lot of hard work, a lifestyle change and ramping up my training at Drive Fitness. I also competed in 3 Drive Fitness events last year; the bench press comp, the dead lift comp and the end of year big boot camp - these 3 events were things that I would never had done in the past.”* - Mel
